Mary F. Birchak 1933-2018

WARREN — Mary F. Mozina Birchak, age 85, died Saturday, June 23, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Champion.

She was born Feb. 7, 1933, in Piney Fork, Ohio, Smithfield Township, the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Pinter Mozina.

Mary was a member of John Paul II Catholic Church in Warren, and previously Christ Our King Catholic Church. She was a member of the Salem Slovak Club, loved the Cleveland Indians and was a 1951 graduate of Salem High School.

Her husband, Joseph E. Birchak, whom she married June 27, 1954, preceded her in death on July 24, 2014.

Survivors include three sons, Michael (Carol) Birchak of Cincinnati, Daniel Birchak of Gilbert, Ariz., and Ronald (Cortney) Birchak of Lake Milton; a daughter, Susan (Gary) Booth of Champion; a sister, Jennie Jackson of Salem; a brother, Frank Mozina of Salem; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Mozina and Margaret von Tuchlinski, both of Salem; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A brother, Edward Mozina of Salem, also preceded her in death.

A special thanks to Randi Moore and the girls at Welcome Home Adult Day Care for taking such loving care of Mary.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem with the Rev. Father Robert Edwards officiating. Calling hours will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home in Salem.

Burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
