Rams send some to regional
NEW MIDDLETOWN — The tandem of senior Antionio Tedesco and junior Nathan Chiclowe took third and fourth, respectively, at last week’s Division III Springfield District track and field meet.
Tedesco threw 141 feet, while Chiclowe went 134-4.
Chiclowe took fourth in the boys shot put (49-1.75).
Rams junior Abbey Strohmeyer was second in the girls 400-meter dash (1:03.43), while freshman Daneille Aulet was fourth in the 800 (2:26.76). The top four in each district event advance to today’s Division III Massillon Perry Regional.
Mineral Ridge’s 4×400 girls relay almost made it the regional. The Rams finished second, but was called out of the zone, which disqualified the relay.
Both teams finished 30 points each.
Junior Nevaeh Cruz took fifth in the 100 hurdles, but was edged out by Brookfield’s Claire Vendemia, 17.201 to 17.209.
The Rams 4×200 relay of freshman Katelyn Lesko, Strohmeyer, sophomore Josie Shultz and freshman Pryce Allen took fifth (1:53.18). Jackson-Milton’s 4×200 relay was fourth (1:52.51).
In the girls long jump, Lesko jumped 15-2.5 to take fifth, but was edged out by Pymatuning Valley’s Jessica Tropp (15-5.5).
