WHAT: City council meeting Wednesday

PRESENT: Doug Sollitto, Jimmy Julian, Michael Lastic, Ed Stredney, Todd Weddell, Aaron Johnstone, James Sheely and Frank Leskovec

Council passed the following legislation by emergency measure:

• An ordinance authorizing the service director to approve and authorize the execution of the Bright Mountain Solar Schedule with American Municipal Power Inc. and taking other actions in connection therewith.

• An ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 39-26.

• A resolution temporarily waiving the permit fee for city-wide residential garage or yard sales.

• An ordinance authorizing the disposal of parts and equipment from the fire department by internet auction sale on GovDeals.com, as they are no longer needed for any municipal purpose by the city.

• An ordinance authorizing the appropriation of funds from the unappropriated water fund for a refund because of failed water meter hardware.

• An ordinance authorizing the appropriation of funds from the unappropriated park fund for tree removal.

• An ordinance authorizing the appropriation of funds from the unappropriated park fund for paving of parking spaces on Sharkey Drive.

• An ordinance authorizing the purchase of Mobile Data Terminal replacements for the city’s police department through state purchasing.

• A resolution authorizing the submission of grant applications for fiscal year 2026-27 grants under the CDBG Community Development Allocation Program.

• A resolution authorizing the mayor or service director to prepare and submit an application and enter into agreements with the Appalachian Regional Commission to become eligible for funding assistance for a waterline replacement.

• An ordinance authorizing the appropriation of funds from the unappropriated sewer fund to contract with Z Tech Builders for emergency storm water sewer repair.
