• Reported negotiations are ongoing in a search for a new service director for the city. Interim Service Director Sean Ratican’s contract ended at the end of August.
• Approved the purchase of two camera systems for use by the service department in storm and sanitary sewer lines from the Safety Company LLC of Cleveland at a cost not to exceed $107,121.
• Approved the purchase and installation by the service department of cellular water / sewer meters, supporting equipment and service plan from Metron Smart Meters and System of Boulder, Colorado, at a cost not to exceed $9,270.
• Approved the transfer of $75,000 from the general fund to the salt storage bin fund ClearSpan will construct and install a roof for a new salt storage bin for the service department at Willow Park at cost not to exceed $81,830.
• Entered into an emergency medical and paramedic service agreement with Mecca Township for one year effective Jan. 1 for the city fire department to provide service to Mecca. The city is authorized to bill in accordance with the third-party billing procedures and rates for Mecca residents treated and transported by the city.
• Heard from Piros the safety service committee is reviewing options for the fire station project on size and location.
