Defendant in human trafficking case extradited, trial date set

WARREN — A defendant in a multi-state investigation into illegal massage parlors, was extradited from New Jersey to Warren having a February trial date set when she appeared before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald Rice.

Sunny Oh, 68, of New Jersey, pleaded not guilty to charges related to promoting prostitution, money laundering and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, with a jury trial scheduled for March 16, 2026, in Rice’s courtroom. She posted a $50,000 bond Thursday.

Several other individuals charged in the case are also set to appear for trial on the same day.

A final pretrial hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

The charges stem from a large-scale investigation called “Operation Saving Daylight,” conducted by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.

Police raided multiple massage parlors in Trumbull and Mahoning counties, including Tiger Spa and Sunny Spa in Warren and 76 Spa and Tanning in Austintown.

Search warrants were also executed at private residences in Leavittsburg, Warren, Austintown, Youngstown and Poland, as well as locations in six other states.

Investigators seized hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, financial assets and business records during the raids.

The task force, led by the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office and organized under the Ohio Attorney General’s Organized Crime Investigation Commission, included participation from multiple agencies, such as the Warren and Austintown police departments, the FBI, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
