$5,000 reward offered in city arson
WARREN — The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office Blue Ribbon Arson Committee is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for an arson Sunday morning on the city’s northeast side.
At 6:30 a.m. Sunday, the Warren Fire Department was dispatched to an occupied residential fire at 626 Porter St. NE. When crews arrived at the scene, they found a significant fire inside and outside the home.
Three adults were inside the home at the time of the fire. Because of the fast spread of the fire, two of the occupants were forced to jump through a second-floor window to escape. A man was treated for minor injuries and released. A woman remains in the hospital. A third person was able to safely exit the home after discovering the fire.
Firefighters were able to rescue a dog that was trapped inside the home.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the state fire marshal’s tip line at 800-589-2728.
