WARREN — Warren police are investigating a shooting late Wednesday night that damaged a home and a vehicle in the city’s northwest side.

According to a police report, officers responded to a call in the 2000 block of Northwest Boulevard around 11:26 p.m. Wednesday, following reports of criminal damage.

One resident told police her vehicle’s rear window was shattered. A bullet hole was found in the back middle seat headrest and in the passenger-side rear door.

She reported hearing about seven gunshots in the area around 10:11 p.m. She discovered the damage to her vehicle later when preparing to drive friends home. The vehicle was parked in her driveway.

Early Thursday morning, about 5:48 a.m., police were called back to the same address after reports of multiple bullet holes in the front of the woman’s residence. Officers located seven 9 mm cartridge casings in the road near a home on Northwest Boulevard.

Two bullet holes were found in the front of the house, with three additional holes on the home’s east side. Several holes were observed inside the home, penetrating the front rooms and hallway. The woman told police she had no known conflicts but noted her grandson, who previously lived at the residence, may have had issues with others.
