WARREN — A Warren man pleaded guilty Wednesday to a third-degree felony charge of sexual battery in a case involving the assault of a 13-year-old girl.

Kamare Evans, 23, of Tod Avenue SW, entered a guilty plea in the courtroom of Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Sean O’Brien. No sentencing date has been scheduled because a background investigation must be done by probation officers.

According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office, the incident occurred in February at a residence in Niles. Prosecutors said Evans provided the girl with alcohol before the assault.

He faces up to five years in prison and will be classified as a Tier 3 sexual offender.
