WHAT: Township trustees meeting Tuesday
PRESENT: Steven Gerberry, Richard Harkins and Edward Whittaker
Trustees:
• Approved an agreement with Kirila Contractors Inc. of Brookfield at $906,027 for the Ohltown Girard (County Line Road and West Webb Road) improvement project. The project is being funded by a $892,140 block grant.
• Entered into an agreement with American Structurepoint Inc. of Cleveland to perform an ecological survey report at $4,548 and regulated materials screening at $2,747 on a culvert on Niles Carver Road that will be replaced as part of the Salt Springs and Niles Carver roads improvement project, which is being funded by a $713,369 Surface Transportation block grant funded through the Federal Highway Administration and $142,674 from the Ohio Public Works Commission.
• Entered into an agreement with Professional Service Industries Inc. to perform asphalt concrete inspection not to exceed $3,259 at various locations along Ohltown Girard Road.
• Promoted John Estlack from patrol officer to sergeant in the police department effective June 2.
• Promoted Greg Rowley Jr. from junior firefighter to probationary firefighter effective June 10.
• Accepted the resignation of Jacob Sigley as a part-time police officer.
• Declared property at 2946 Mayfield Ave. as unfit for human habitation and ordered the owner to remove junk vehicles and demolish the structure.
• Approved a supplemental police services agreement with Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority July 1 to June 30, 2026 for police security.
• Recognized Ava Hulett, a senior at Mineral Ridge High School, for her various achievements including being named Trumbull County Coaches Association Girls Basketball Player of the Year,
• Announced the community garage sales will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 19 to 21. The addresses and a map will be available. Text Cheryl at 330-565-2449 to participate.
• Reminded residents that open burning is not permitted in the township.
• Canceled the June 19 meeting because of the Juneteenth holiday.
