Warren man charged, accused of recording women in bathroom
WARREN — A 35-year-old city man faces charges after allegedly recording two women, ages 24 and 19, in a bathroom at a residence they shared.
On Thursday, Dallas Wilson appeared before Warren Municipal Court Judge Patty Knepp, who issued a no-contact order with the victims and set a $5,000 bond.
Wilson pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor voyeurism charges. He is prohibited from returning to the residence except to retrieve his personal belongings and vehicle, which are located at the property, under police escort only.
The court noted that his belongings are in the vehicle along with the keys, and he is not permitted to enter the residence.
Wilson was informed of his next court date, set for May 30 via video.
Wilson was arrested Tuesday at a home in the 2000 block of Oak Street SW, following a report of an unwanted person.
The resident, the mother of the two victims, called 911 after confronting Wilson and asking him to leave, according to a Warren police report.
The report states that the 19-year-old victim told officers she was using the restroom when she noticed a phone positioned on its side, facing the toilet. Upon inspection, she discovered the phone was actively recording.
The report states that she reviewed the video, which showed the man placing the phone to face the toilet before exiting the bathroom. Officers confirmed they viewed this portion of the video.
She then further searched the phone and found another video in a deleted folder, allegedly showing her 24-year-old sister in the bathroom, the report stated.
The video was believed to have been recorded on Monday.
The sister told police that the man had knocked on the bathroom door while she was inside and entered after she left. She was unaware of anyone else entering the bathroom before her sister.
Their mother confronted Wilson after her daughters informed her of the videos, according to the report. The youngest victim, who had possession of the phone and knew its passcode, turned it over to police as evidence, according to the report.
Officers logged and placed the phone in an evidence locker.
Police returned to the Oak Street residence and arrested Wilson without incident.
