WHAT: Board of Education meeting Wednesday

PRESENT: Cheryl Kistler, Niki Reid, William Catlin, Rebekah Conn and Tracie Allen

The board:

• Entered into an agreement with Martin Public Seating to replace the lockers this summer at the high school at $69,000. Superintendent Greg Bonamase said the lockers will be made wider and bigger at 15 inches across, 15 inches deep and 60 inches high.

• Approved Brielle Floravito as payroll clerk effective April 14 to July 31 with a three-year contract beginning Aug. 1. She replaces Melissa Rakich, who resigned effective March 19.

• Accepted retirement resignations of Janet Cerimele as elementary custodian effective June 30 and Jane Jackson, district nurse, effective at end of the school year, May 30.

WHAT: Township trustees meeting April 7

PRESENT: Doug Emerine, Rex Fee and Rick York

Trustees:

• Accepted an equipment grant of $14,675 from the state fire marshal for personal protective equipment for the fire department.

• Accepted the resignation of police officer Brian Mackey effective April 1.

• Declared properties at 6039 Downs Road, 356 Cleveland Ave. and 272 Eldon Drive as public nuisances.

• Are reviewing limiting solicitation hours in the township to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.weekdays.

• Announced the Champion Rotary will sponsor the Memorial Day parade May 26.

• Approved the purchase of 12 round, 12-foot tables at $125 each from Sam’s Club for the township administration building.

• Reported the township will receive $746 from the national opioid settlement.

• Forwarded information on the Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s historic preservation award nominations to the Champion Historical Society.

• Met with the county engineer’s office at their annual meeting to discuss Issue 2 projects.

• Approved Mindy Moyers as kindergarten Jumpstart position for summer.

Trumbull County

WHAT: Trumbull County Educational Service Center governing board meeting Monday.

PRESENT: Al Haberstroh, Tom Krispinksy, Denise Domhoff, Deborah Patchin and Jeff Dreves.

The board:

• Approved a three-year agreement with Julian and Grube for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) services at $6,600 per year.

• Approved Julian and Grube to perform Medicaid school program audits for school districts June 2026 to July 2027 on a five-year agreement with costs to be paid by participating districts.

• Accepted retirement resignation of Randy McCrystal as technology coordinator effective June 30; Rhonda Accordino and Rhonda Buie as preschool teachers effective July 31; and Kim Bundy, classroom assistant effective June 30.
