WHAT: Board of Education meeting March 10

The board:

• Is rebidding for the band shelter with bids to be received on March 24. Superintendent Anthony Calderone said the original cost estimates for the project were too low. He said the steel market costs are having an effect on projects.

• Approved the 2025-26 school calendar, with the first day for students Aug. 26 and last day May 29, 2026.

• Approved a fiscal year 2026 excess costs foundation contract with the Trumbull County Educational Service Center at $1,361,055 to be deducted from the state foundation payments to the school district. Calderone said there are increased special education costs for the district.

• Renewed a contract for electrical costs for the district at 5.2 cents per kilowatt hour, which officials said is a cost savings.
