Mecca trustees name Beverly Lytle as new fiscal officer
MECCA — Township trustees on Monday named Beverly Lytle as the new fiscal officer.
Trustee Chairwoman Christen Clemson said Lytle was the only applicant for the position. Clemson said Barb Scott, the fiscal officer for Farmington Township, will serve as an assistant to Lytle on government accounting and becoming familiar with the position.
Lytle will serve in the fiscal officer position through Dec. 31 and if she wants to continue, she will have to run in the November general election for a new term.
Cortland Financial Director Patty Gibson had been serving as the fiscal officer but because the township has a fire contract with Cortland, she can’t continue serving because of a conflict of interest.
Gibson replaced Kathleen Cameron.
In other business, trustees heard from the Trumbull County Planning Commission on a new comprehensive plan for the township’s future. Clemson said the current plan was done in 1993.
She said the cost will be under $3,000, which is mostly for postage and printing costs.
