WHAT: Trumbull Career and Technical Center board meeting Thursday.
The board:
• Accepted the retirement resignation of math teacher Dawn Haught, effective June 1, with 32 years of service.
• Accepted the resignation of English instructor Gabrielle Figueroa with two years of service, effective at the end of the school year.
• Accepted a donation of a Jaws of Life from Johnston Township Fire Department for the fire and emergency medical service program; assorted auto body panels from the Body Shop of Niles for the auto collision program; chainsaws from Do Cut Sales and Service for the power equipment program; and kitchen cabinets and electrical switch boxes from Lowe’s for the construction technology program.
• Swore in Amie Crowder of Newton Falls to a new term on the board.
• Heard from Brooke Vondrasek of Bristol, chairwoman of the high school programs committee, that 12 programs have reached their maximum number of students, with some students having to select a second-choice program.
• Set community night 5 to 8 p.m. April 24 and senior completion ceremony 6:30 p.m. May 15 at Eastwood Field.
