Judge sets $100K bond for Chicago woman in forgery case

WARREN — A Chicago woman accused of possessing fraudulent identification documents was arraigned Tuesday in Warren Municipal Court.

Judge Natash K. Natale set the woman’s bond at $100,000.

Emileth Nohemi Briceno Rodriguez, 39, of Chicago, pleaded not guilty to forgery, a fifth-degree felony, and misdemeanor falsification charges. Her next hearing is Thursday.

According to a Warren police report, she was arrested Monday after officers responded to a report at the Circle K gas station in the 4000 block of Parkman Road NW.

Officers discovered that the red 2006 Hyundai Sonata she was traveling in had fictitious Colorado license plates that did not match the vehicle’s registration. The vehicle, occupied by three adults and two juveniles, was traveling from Chicago to New York, according to police.

During the investigation, officers identified discrepancies with the identification documents presented by the woman. According to the report, social security and U.S. permanent resident cards presented by the accused were fake. When questioned, the woman admitted she had purchased the false documents to obtain employment in the United States.

She was taken into custody and transported to the Trumbull County jail.

The fictitious identification cards were logged as evidence, the report states. Another adult in the vehicle was issued a summons and released, while the juveniles and an additional passenger were transported to a local hotel, police said.

The vehicle was impounded and towed to May’s Towing because of the fraudulent plates and lack of proof of ownership.

Starting at $2.99/week.
