Staff report
WARREN — A Warren man who was arrested during a raid of his Oak Street SWresidence was sentenced to 10 years to life for rape and child sex abuse crimes.
Ducati Buell, 20, was sentenced by Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Ronald J. Rice to 10 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree rape, three counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, and two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor.
Prosecutors said the victim was a 9-year-old girl.
Buell was declared a Tier 3 sex offender, the most severe classification in Ohio. He will be required to register with the local sheriff’s office every 90 days for the rest of his life if he is granted parole.
According to the court, Buell will have his first opportunity for parole after serving a minimum of 10 years.
Prosecutors say Buell had taken videos of him performing sex acts on the victim and taking nude photos. The investigation also uncovered child sex abuse material on his electronic devices.
Authorities searched the home of Buell, where investigators were seen removing computer parts from the residence.
He was taken into custody following the search, which was conducted by the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the Warren Police Department. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force also was involved in the investigation.
