Trials set for Warren men accused of July murder
WARREN — A Feb. 18 trial date was set Monday for one of two Warren men charged in the July fatal shooting of 29-year-old Kardell Lowery at the Hampshire House apartment complex.
Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Cynthia Westcott Rice will oversee the case.
Tyree Brown, 29, faces charges of aggravated murder, aggravated burglary and illegally possessing weapons. Co-defendant Michael Williamson, 29, is scheduled for a Feb. 10 hearing on identical charges.
Both pleaded not guilty at their arraignments in December after they were indicted by a Trumbull County grand jury.
Prosecutors allege Brown and Williamson forced entry into a Fifth Street SW apartment around 6 a.m. July 10, 2023, and shot Lowery multiple times.
Officers found Lowery dead at the scene. A woman’s 911 call reporting gunfire lasted one minute, dispatch records show.
At Brown’s arraignment in December, Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman cited Brown’s criminal history and probation status at the time of the shooting when requesting a $1 million bond.
Brown remains at the Trumbull County jail on a $250,000 bond and a separate probation hold.
The prosecution plans to try both men together.
