Masury man facing multiple charges

Counts stem from child sex case, overdose investigation

BROOKFIELD — A Masury man is facing multiple charges stemming from two investigations and the execution of a search warrant.

Jason Jones, 32, was taken into custody by township police at his home on Second Street Friday on two separate arrest warrants, one for seven counts of pandering sexually oriented content involving a minor and another for corrupting another with drugs.

According to a news release from township police Chief Aaron Kasiewicz, an investigation was started by detectives in June based on information received from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The investigation led to a search warrant being served on Jones’ residence Aug. 23.

The release states that based on the evidence recovered during the investigation, which is ongoing, arrest warrants for Jones were obtained through the Trumbull County Eastern District Court for the seven counts.

The additional warrant for corrupting another with drugs was based on an incident that happened at his residence Jan. 2, when a juvenile victim overdosed on medications that were prescribed to Jones.

The release states both cases are being actively investigated, and potential for further charges at a later date exists. Jones is set to appear in court via video for his arraignment Tuesday, court records show.

Starting at $2.99/week.
