City man reports assault during domestic dispute
WARREN — A Warren man reported being assaulted with a lamp during a domestic disturbance Friday afternoon, according to a police report.
Officers responded to the 3100 block of Randolph Street NW at 1:26 p.m. after receiving a call about the incident.
The man, who sustained a laceration and swelling on the side of his head, declined medical treatment, but described the assault. He told police that his fiancee’s niece struck him with a lamp following a verbal altercation. He reported that after he ignored the suspect’s shouting, she began attacking him with various objects, including lamps and bricks.
Officers observed a trail of blood leading from the top of the stairs to the basement, where several bricks and a broken lamp were found.
The man was advised that a report would be filed despite his initial reluctance.
The suspect had fled the scene before police arrived, and no arrests were made.
