WHAT: Township trustees meeting Wednesday
PRESENT: Matt Vansuch, James LaPolla and Frank Dillon
Trustees:
• Approved the promotion of Nate Durig from firefighter / paramedic to lieutenant / paramedic, effective Nov. 1. Durig fills a recent retirement in the fire department.
• Hired Nathaniel Kramer as a full-time patrolman. Kramer, an Air Force veteran, previously worked in Perry Township.
• Hired Brandon Littell as a full-time patrolman. Littell, an Army veteran and in the National Guard, also previously worked in Perry Township.
• Accepted the reimbursement of $7,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice bulletproof vest partnership reimbursement grant.
• Approved a service agreement with 45Press Inc. to develop, design and update the township’s website.
• Approved splitting the $352,300 in lodging tax money from the three hotels in the township with $176,150 each going to the fire and police departments.
• Received $3,612 from the Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of EMS for training and reimbursement grant. Fire Chief Ray Pace the funds will be used for upgrades to equipment.
• Approved dues to the Trumbull County Emergency Management Agency at $5,157.
• Announced the annual Christmas tree lighting will be 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at Richard Orwig Park with Santa Claus arriving at 5:30 p.m.
• Announced police will take part in “Can the Cruiser” 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Howland Giant Eagle parking lot with items donated to local food pantries.
• Announced a public hearing will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for the rezoning of 100 parcels off Niles Cortland Road to highway commercial.
• Purchased limestone mix from Tri-County Asphalt at $10,112
• Set the year-end meeting at 8 a.m. Dec. 30.
