Mecca names new fiscal officer

MECCA — Township trustees at a special meeting Tuesday named Patricia Gibson as the new fiscal officer effective Dec. 1, but are checking with the Trumbull County prosecutor to make sure it is OK since she is also the Cortland finance director.

Trustee Chairwoman Christen Clemson said Gibson was selected from two applicants who sought the post.

The current fiscal officer, Kathleen Cameron, will be leaving Nov. 30. Cameron served from April 2023, replacing Jennifer Mancini, who left a month prior.

Cameron had worked in securities and fraud for 717 Credit Union.
