WHAT: Board of Education meeting Wednesday
PRESENT: Nick Gallo, Jody Klase, Jessica Krumpak, Donna Shields and Kristina Merola
The board:
•Were informed the football stadium project is scheduled to be completed before year-end with the concession stand / restroom building nearing completion. Also, the high school roof project which began last summer is nearing completion.
•Set ACT Boot Camp for three days in November to prepare high school students for the ACT test. High school teachers Shannon Averell, Mike Hecker and Danielle Ronghi will serve as tutors.
•Approved payment to teacher Pamela Ross, a drone racing instructor, at $1,840 with funding from a grant from the Trumbull County Educational Service Center for reimbursement for costs to the district for the drone racing program,
•Heard updates from high school principal Gary Carkido and elementary principal Eric Jones of updates and professional development of staff at each building, and also from Meghan Watson, supervisor of special education, on student programs. New this school year is a crochet club and art club, anti-bullying week activities, a book vending machine and Walk of Excellence to honor students.

WHAT: Village council meeting Thursday
PRESENT: Sean Schmidt, Kerry Reckard, Chad Jones, John Metzinger, Don Smith and Mayor Ray Lewis

Council:
•Approved a 24-month opt-in gas aggregation agreement at 3.85 mcf with Eastern Power Group, which is the gas supplier. Officials said residents will receive information by mail on how they can opt in, and will be billed by Enbridge Gas Ohio, formerly Dominion.
•Announced there will be a Halloween costume contest and bonfire at Woodland Park at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31 following trick or treat from 5 to 7 p.m.
