WHAT: City council meeting Monday

PRESENT: Reynold Paolone, Thomas Grumley, Jeff Kay, Mark Standohar, Keith Schubert, Lily Martuccio, John Moliterno, Sam Zirafi and Mayor Mark Zuppo

Council:

•Heard from Safety-Service Director Sal Ponzio a new salt barn is 90% complete with one section for salt and another section having bays for vehicles. “It is a new structure that will serve the community for years to come,” he said.

•Will prepare legislation for the city to take part in the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments Appalachian Regional Commission grant program for different projects. Officials said applications need to be submitted this year for 2025.

•Rescheduled the next meeting to 7 p.m. Nov. 12 because of Veterans Day.

•Scheduled a caucus on the status of the ambulance service at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 25 followed by a finance committee at 6:30 p.m. The ambulance has been in service for four months.
