Warren man pleads guilty in federal case

WARREN — A Warren man on Thursday pleaded guilty to four federal charges dealing with drug trafficking and an ammunition possession charge.

Omearo L. Beaver, 32, formerly of Commerce Street NW, will be sentenced Jan. 24, 2023 by U.S. Judge Benita Y. Pearson in U.S. Northern Ohio District Court. He pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution of fentanyl, two counts of distribution of cocaine base, and possession of ammunition as a convicted felon.

Two charges against Beaver of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine were dropped by the prosecution in return for the guilty pleas on the other charges.

The indictment charges Beaver with the drug offenses that took place Jan. 26 and 28, 2021, and also on Feb. 4, 2021. He was found in possession of 16 rounds of ammunition bearing the headstamp markings of “Blazer 380 Auto.” Beaver was prohibited from possessing ammunition because of a previous conviction in a kidnapping and burglary case in February 2011 in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. Beaver was sentenced to 10 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of those charges.
