Howland man pleads guilty in child porn case

WARREN — A Howland man on Wednesday pleaded guilty to four felony counts dealing with downloading child pornography on personal devices.

Kyle Lyons, 21, of Fairview Avenue SE, pleaded guilty to three counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and one count of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance.

Lyons will be sentenced by Common Pleas Judge W. Wyatt McKay after he undergoes a background investigation conducted by Trumbull County probation officers.

Lyons, who turned himself in to Howland police in April, after they searched his home, has been free after posting a $100,000 bond and promising not to have contact with any minors.

During the search of Lyons’ home, prosecutors said, authorities found that pornography involving various images of nude female children — some as young as six months and as old as 8 years — had been downloaded to several electronic devices.

Lyons could face a indefinite prison sentence between two and 12 years, the judge said, and he will have to register as a sex offender.
