WHAT: Township trustees meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: Steve Gerberry, Edward Whittaker and Richard Harkins


• Established the OneOhio Fund to accept money awarded to the township by the state as part of the OneOhio opioid settlement;

• Awarded a contract to Allied Waste / Republic Services of Youngstown for three years, with the option for 2 two-year extension periods, for the purpose of collecting waste and recyclables at single-family and two-family homes;

• Accepted the resignation of zoning inspector Melissa Murphy, who has taken a new position with Ravenna Township;

• Promoted Lynda Briach from administrative assistant I to administrative assistant II at $20.56 per hour;

• Hired Kelly Clarke as administrative assistant I at $20.56 per hour;

• Accepted the resignation of police officer Christian Thoma, who has taken a position with the Liberty Police Department;

• Promoted Nathan Novotny to a full-time police officer effective today;

• Hired Christopher Russo as a full-time police officer effective Aug. 13;

• Hired Brooklyn Youngblood, Susan Hunt and Lydia Killian as a probationary firefighters effective Aug. 9, who will be evaluated after six months;

• Announced the final public hearing for the Heaton Chute sewer project will be Sept. 1.
