Man hit with pipe outside Warren apartments

WARREN — City police are investigating an assault that occurred early Tuesday near the rear entrance to the high-rise apartments at 250 Tod Ave.

Officers were called about 1 a.m. and found a large amount of blood near an elevator.

They spoke to the victim, a 49-year-old man, who had multiple cuts on the top and back of his head and was bleeding from his face. He was taken for treatment at Trumbull Regional Medical Center, the police report states.

The man told police that he had a dispute with his assailant over a woman earlier Monday and when he entered through the door of the complex, the man was waiting for him with a small metal pipe. The report states the man started hitting the victim with the pipe.

After the assault, the assailant “started bragging to people in the parking lot” about it, the police report states. No arrests were made.
