Blown transformer blamed for outage

BAZETTA — Several businesses and hundreds of residents were without power for an hour after a substation transformer located on Hoagland Blackstub Road blew around 1:23 p.m.

The Bazetta police and fire department arrived on the scene. No fire hazard was detected, so Ohio Edison was called out to further investigate.

Power was restored by 2:23 p.m. Some businesses remained closed while others were beginning to reopen.
