Man accused in Vienna abduction

VIENNA — A Pennsylvania man was arrested by Vienna police and charged with felonious assault and abduction after police were called for a possibly suicidal person.

The woman he is accused of kidnapping was waving her arms over a highway overpass on Niles Vienna Road when a driver noticed her and called 911. When police arrived Friday, they arrested John Reeher, 54, of 102 Tod Ave., Hermitage, Pa.

According to the police report, the 56-year-old woman told the medic that she was taken by Reeher from her house in Sharon, Pa. and told him repeatedly that she wanted to go home. She also alleged that he had raped her multiple times.

She told authorities that Reeher had also assaulted her when she went too far away. The report said she was hit on her chest and face. The woman was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center for an evaluation and an exam for sexual assault, the report states.
