Turnpike to host patron appreciation

YOUNGSTOWN — The Ohio Turnpike and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are partnering ahead of the Fourth of July holiday to host a customer appreciation event 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Mahoning Valley Service Plaza in New Springfield.

The event will have an electronic wheel to win prizes, including gas cards. The state patrol will display a patrol car and have troopers available to meet with the public.

Also, the Cleveland Police Historical Society and Museum, in partnership with the state patrol retirees’ association, will display four vintage cruisers: a 1970 Plymouth Fury, 1975 Plymouth Gran Fury, 1988 Chevrolet Caprice and 1990 Chevrolet Camaro.
