WHAT: Township trustees meeting Monday
PRESENT: Devon Stanley, Arnie Clebone and Greg Cizmar
Trustees:
• Heard from Clebone, who was able to secure an Eastgate Regional Council of Governments planning grant of $13,500 toward a $15,000 sidewalk project, with a local match of $1,500. Clebone said plans are for sidewalks and aesthetic improvements in two areas of Belmont Avenue — one from state Route 304 to Giant Eagle and the other from Station Square to Route 304;
• Announced a community safety day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Walmart parking lot;
• Heard from fiscal officer Matt Connelly that all local hotels are paid up to date on bed taxes;
• Heard from Clebone that the second phase of the $250,000 grant for improvements of the stream at Churchill Park will be completed. He said the western side has been finished, while the eastern side will be done this summer;
• Received a $209,621 grant for the Naylor Lloyd Road paving improvement project to be done this summer;
• Approved an agreement with Niles Foundation Co. to install foundations at Churchill Cemetery.
