WHAT: Township trustees meeting June 13

PRESENT: Bruce Bancroft, Jamin Banning and Greg Leonhard


• Approved placing a 1.5-mill five-year road and bridge replacement renewal levy on the November general election ballot. The levy will generate $50,238 annually. The township maintains 21 miles of roads with two workers for snow plowing, roadside mowing, culvert repair and road maintenance. Officials said if the levy does not pass, the township will be limited to one road employee. Officials said with a renewal levy, there would be no increase in taxes;

• Are reviewing what roads will be paved this year. Leonhard said fuel prices and other costs will be deciding factors on what and how many roads are paved this year;

• Reported the new restrooms at the former Joseph Badger School site will be completed by the end of the month for upcoming events there;

• Have met with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District and residents of the Lakelands area to review options on what to use the former lake for. Leonhard said ideas are being reviewed on what to use the lake property with followup meetings planned;

• Met with officials from ODNR over flooding issues at Yoder Street and at Kinsman Nickerson Road and Elm Street. Leonhard said officials are seeing what can be done to alleviate the flooding problems in the areas;

• Announced the annual garage sale will be held July 8 to 10, and the annual car show July 17 at the former Joseph Badger School site.
