Sheriff’s dogs gets protective vests

WARREN — Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office police dogs — Lord and Lincoln — will receive bullet- and stab-protective vests thanks to a donation from a nonprofit organization.

Vested Interest in K9s Inc. has donated vests that will be embroidered: “In memory of Officer Jason Lagore and K9 Ranger, ODNR,” according to a news release.

Delivery is expected within eight to 10 weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity. Its mission is to provide bullet- and stab-protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. Since its inception, the nonprofit has donated 4,652 vests valued at $6.9 million to police dogs in all 50 states.
