Man pleads to drugs, arson charges

19-year-old faces up to 11 years in prison

WARREN — A Warren man is facing a possible 11 years in prison after pleading guilty Tuesday to three drug-related charges, arson and attempted arson during a hearing before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew D. Logan.

Malachi Linderman, 19, 167 Charles Ave., was convicted of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, possession of cocaine, aggravated possession of drugs, arson and attempted arson.

He is expected to be sentenced after Linderman completes a background investigation conducted by the Trumbull County Probation Department.

Linderman was stopped by police on May 14, 2021, for a traffic violation at which time officers found suspected drugs.

On the arson charges, Linderman was arrested on Oct. 28, 2021, in connection to a fire that damaged one home and caused smoke damage to a neighboring house in Warren.

Jail records show Linderman has been incarcerated since Nov. 3, 2021, pending the posting of a $35,000 bond.
