The board:
• Named Cheryl Basista of Weathersfield president and Ronda Bonekovic of Brookfield as vice president;
• Named Al Haberstroh of Southington and the Trumbull County Educational Service Center as legislative liaison to the Ohio School Boards Association and Sue Ellen Harris-Davis of Girard as student achievement liaison;
• Approved committee chairs: Thomas Hart of McDonald, high school; John Phillips of Joseph Badger, finance; Scott Lehman of Howland, adult education; Tim Gibson of LaBrae, facilities; and Diana DeVito of Liberty, policy;
• Hired Rachel Moore-Noel as a licensed practical nurse adult education instructor effective Jan. 3 at $28 per hour;
• Were informed the adult education program is trying to find two part-time nursing instructors. Gray said it is challenging because of the certification requirements needed for registered nurses, licensed practical nurse and state-tested nursing assistants;
• Approved field trip for Skills USA to Deer Creek State Park Lodge and conference center in Mount Sterling Sunday to Wednesday;
• Approved a stipend of $375 for the second semester for academic department chairs in English, science, math and social studies;
• Set meetings for 6 p.m. the second Thursday of the month.
