Vandalism reported at coin laundry

BROOKFIELD– A Masury woman charged in a Tuesday incident at a Brookfield coin-operated laundry, in which about $60 was stolen and a coin machine was damaged.

Krissie Jackson, 39, of Davis Street, Masury, is scheduled to be arraigned 8:45 a.m. Tuesday before Eastern District Judge Marty D. Nosich on charges of felony vandalism and misdemeanor theft and tampering with coin machines.

Trumbull County jail records show Jackson was booked into the facility at 3:39 p.m. Thursday and released three hours later.

Surveillance video from the Laundry Basket on Warren-Sharon Road and posted on the police social media page shows two females going over to a coin machine, which was shaken and broken, with the two seen grabbing handfuls of change.

The police posts stated the females used some of the money they stole to purchase items from another machine before leaving.

The posting stated the owner of the business had to repair the machines.

The females got into a gray Chevrolet Malibu that was driven by a man.

Reports showed that $61 was stolen and damage totaled about $750.

The police posting stated community tips helped find one of the suspects.

“This seems to be the quickest and most effective way to help catch the disrespectful people that continue to take advantage of others in our community. If you commit crimes in this township and are caught on camera, know that we have no problem sharing your face … ,” the police social media post stated.

“You all have been a great help thus far. We appreciate your continued support.”
