Driver hurt in Liberty crash

LIBERTY — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-car accident Tuesday morning in the 1100 block of Tibbetts Wick Road that sent one person to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

According to a Trumbull County 911 report, a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu struck a tree about 2:15 a.m. Also, the report states an electrical utility pole with wires was knocked across the road, closing Tibbetts Wick in both directions.

The driver, whose legs were pinned inside, had to be extracted from the vehicle by first responders, the report states. Ohio Edison crews were called to take care of the downed pole, the report states.
