Man found in yard after house burglarized

WARREN — A man was arrested early Friday, accused of breaking into a home in the 100 block of Ford Avenue NW.

Someone called 911 to report a front door of the residence was open as well as a front window broken. The report also stated a man was lying in the front yard, and it looked like he’d jumped out the front window.

When officer arrived about 3 a.m., they found Robjavon Brogdon, 34, of Oak Street SW, who had cuts on his hands and horizontal blinds wrapped around his body. Officers observed the front door was broken from the inside with its window broken. The opening in the door window was large enough for someone to crawl through, the report states. Also the front window screen of the house was pushed out as if someone jumped through it. Glass also was found in the front yard, the report states.

A police dog was used to search the residence.

The homeowner arrived and told officers he did not know the man who was lying in the yard. The homeowner, after looking around the house, told officers nothing appeared to be stolen.

An ambulance transported Brogdon to St. Joseph Warren Hospital for wound treatment. Jail records show that Brogdon was booked into the facility shortly after 8 a.m. Friday.

Warren Municipal Court records show Brogdon was wanted for failure to appear Wednesday on charges of criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia for a different case. The city prosecutor had not yet filed charges against Brogdon connected to the Ford Avenue incident.
