Man arrested after fight spills off basketball court

NORTH BLOOMFIELD — A 24-year-old North Bloomfield man was arrested after Trumbull County sheriff deputies were called to a state Route 45 address to break up a fight among a large number of people and someone had fired at least one round from a gun.

Deputies were helped by personnel from Orwell Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol to quell the fight, which took place about 6 p.m. Monday.

After getting statements from all involved, deputies learned of an argument at the Bloomfield Park basketball courts that led to a fight in the backyard of the Route 45 home, the report states. Multiple people had superficial injuries and mud and dirt on their clothing. One of the men involved walked out of the house holding a black handgun and fired a round toward the tree line before pointing it at the fighters, the report states.

The fight broke up after the shot was fired, the report states.

Seth Bower of Route 45, North Bloomfield, was taken into custody on a warrant. The report states Bower was turned over to the Boardman Police Department.
