WHAT: Village council meeting Monday

PRESENT: Robert Bond, Terry Campbell, Ron Radtka, Don Reider, Howard Sheely and Mayor Arno Hill

ABSENT: Lamar Liming


• Discussed the need for adding a four-way stop at the intersection of Lyntz and Pritchard Ohltown roads, which now is a two-way stop. The intersection is on the Mahoning-Trumbull line for Lordstown Village and Newton, Milton and Jackson townships;

• Accepted a quote from Stephen Campbell Associates at $8,769 to replace a recorder system in the police department after a lightning strike. Also accepted was a quote from JED Services at $9,798 to install security cameras inside and outside the police station. Hill said the village may be reimbursed for the costs by insurance;

• Appointed police Chief Brent Milhoan to the Trumbull 911 Review Board committee;

• Approved re-engaging attorney Joseph Fritz to serve as prosecutor for the village through November 2023. Hill said his contract is being extended as he represents the village in Newton Falls court;

• Approved the village co-sponsoring the Lorstown Apple Cider Festival through 2023.
