WHAT: Township trustees meeting Monday

PRESENT: Doug Emerine, Brian Bugos and Bill Templeton


• Accepted a $37,900 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Act grant to purchase a Physio Life Pak cardiac monitor and a five-year service and maintenance agreement on the unit. Federal funds provided $36,095 and local matching funds were $1,804;

• Approved Zoning Inspector Rhonda Fonce proceeding with addressing removal of junk motor vehicles at four locations in the township. Fonce said there have been increased numbers of junk vehicles. Certified letters were sent to the owners requesting they address the zoning violation and remove the vehicles;

• Hired Matthew Gephart as a firefighter / emergency medical technician basic;

• Heard from Bugos the high school cross country course was reopened this month;

• Set trick or treat for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30:

• Purchased nine sets of boots at $3,060 for the fire department from Warren with a portion of the cost to be defrayed by grant funding;

• Reminded all employees and visitors to the township buildings that no smoking is permitted inside or in the ingress or egress of a building;

• Will contact Southington, Braceville and Warren townships to set a meeting on a joint project on Anderson Anthony Road that travels through all three communities.
