Man breaks probation, receives prison term

WARREN — A Warren man who failed at probation on two convictions involving a Sept. 24, 2019, break-in was sent to prison for a 30-month term on Thursday.

Phillip P. Shimko, 25, Sheridan Avenue NE, had admitted to violating his probation in two cases before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Ronald J. Rice, convictions on an amended charge of attempted grand theft and another breaking and entering felony linked to a Sept. 24, 2019, incident in Warren.

This is the second violation in both cases, records show, and Rice told the defendant he won’t get probation again if he comes into that court on any charge.
