Gas station reports attempted break-in

WARREN — Police are investigating an attempted break-in overnight Tuesday at a gas station on West Market Street.

Officers were dispatched about 7:39 a.m. to Rocky’s Gas Station where a worker found broken glass near the front door lock. There was no evidence of anyone being inside the business, the report states.

A look at a security video showed a tall man walking to the door and forcing a hammer through the glass after several swings. But the man failed to open the locked door and fled from the scene on foot, running west of the building. The suspected bandit was wearing a dark-colored, long-sleeved shirt, dark hat, dark pants and a face mask, the report states.
