Brookfield board OKs pay raises
BROOKFIELD — The Brookfield Board of Education on Wednesday approved new three-year contracts for the superintendent and treasurer, effective Aug. 1 to July 31, 2024.
Superintendent Toby Gibson will be paid $95,000 for the 2021-22 year. The first year he will receive a $3,000 pay increase and $2,000 contribution to a retirement fund for fiscal year 2022, a $4,000 salary increase for fiscal year 2023, and $5,000 salary increase for fiscal year 2024.
Treasurer Julie Sloan will receive $70,340 for the 2021-22 year working 260 days. The first year she will receive a $2,000 increase and $2,500 contribution to a retirement fund in fiscal year 2022, a $3,000 salary increase for fiscal year 2023 and $4,000 salary increase for fiscal year 2024.
Board member Jerry Necastro said both Gibson and Sloan are hard working and put in a lot of extra time during the coronavirus pandemic.
