Robbers beat man at Mahoning Avenue home
WARREN — Police are investigating a robbery late Monday at a home in the 800 block of Mahoning Avenue NW where a 45-year-old man was severely beaten.
Officers were dispatched to the home around 11:50 p.m. where two men broke in and severly beat up the man with the leg of an oak table. The man was taken to the hospital with possible internal injuries, the report states.
The victim told officers he answered a knock at the door thinking it was a friend and two men wearing hooded sweatshirts and bandanas over their lower faces entered. The man said the robbers wanted keys to the house, but he refused. That’s when one of the men broke an oak table and used one of the legs to beat him. The man only stopped after the victim gave them the keys and they fled the home, the report states.
