Warren man sent to prison for drugs
WARREN — A Third Street SW man was sent to prison for six months after he was convicted of three drug- trafficking offenses on Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
Tommy Pennington, 26, pleaded guilty before Judge Ronald J. Rice to trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, trafficking in cocaine and trafficking in heroin.
After his release, Pennington may be eligible for up to three years of parole probation.
The charges stem from an investigation by the sheriff’s Trumbull Action Group drug task force that began Jan. 16, 2020. Prosecutors said on three occasions, Pennington sold drugs to an informant — 0.5 grams of a heroin / fentanyl compound, 0.89 grams of cocaine and 0.37 grams of heroin.
