WHAT: Township trustee meeting May 3

PRESENT: Heidi Brown, Phil Pegg and Rich Dascenzo

Trustees:

• Announced a Memorial Day ceremony will be 12:30 p.m. May 31 at the township center monument with local Veterans of Foreign Wars and high school band participating. There will not be a parade;

• Accepted the resignation of Bill Lynn from the zoning commission and appointed Susan Mamula to fill Lynn’s unexpired term through December 2022;

• Declared property at 5202 Smith Stewart Road unsafe for habitation;

• Approved participation in negotiations when companies seek abatements for enterprise zone projects located in the industrial park off Ridge Road. Brown said trustees will be able to provide input on applications;

• Approved Ronyak Paving in Cortland for the summer paving of Smith Stewart Road at $102,061 and Creekside Drive at $97,446; Trustees also OK’d payment of $1,123 to Eastgate Regional Council of Governments for administrative fees in the planning of the Smith Stewart Road paving project;

• Approved paying Quality Truck $1,990 for repairs to the salt spreader; Hudson Communication $7,930 for two repeaters for the truck radios for better communication in safety vehicles; and Jim Rohan Floor $13,400 for new flooring at the fire department.
