Newton Falls woman charged with menacing
WARREN — A woman accused of letting her two young daughters wander away from home Friday pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of child endangering, driving under the influence and driving without a license.
Katasha Stienstra, 33, of Brighton Avenue NE, Warren, was released by Warren Municipal Court Judge Terry Ivanchak on a personal bond, but he ordered her to follow the recommendations of Trumbull County Children Services as a condition of her release.
According to a police report, the children, ages 1 and 6, were found on Bonnie Brae Avenue NE, which is about three blocks away from their home. While they were talking to police, two of their teen siblings showed up and returned home to get their mother, who drove back to where the girls were.
The report states the woman admitted she had been drinking.
Stienstra is due back in court June 17.
