Woman claims she was threatened with gun at home

GIRARD — A city woman told police a woman tried to enter her residence and threatened her with a gun Saturday.

Girard police were called at 10:57 p.m. to a home on South Randolph Avenue for woman trying to enter the home, but the woman was gone when police arrived.

When officers spoke to the resident, she stated the woman tried to push her way inside and brandished a firearm. One of her children came upstairs to tell her there was someone at the door. When the resident opened the door, the woman — whom she did not know — tried to push her way in and used her leg to keep the door from closing.

When the resident tried to call 911, the woman attempted to grab the phone from her hand. Before fleeing she said: “This isn’t over.”

Police told the victim to call if the woman returns.
