WHAT: Board of Education meeting Thursday

PRESENT: Elizabeth Dunn, Cory Freeman, Steve Gilanyi, Terry Kelly and Megan Gibbs

The board:

• Approved participation in the Ohio Schools Council bus bidding process, which authorizes council to advertise and receive bids for new buses;

• Approved Susan Smucker as a translator during state testing at $21.11 per hour;

• Approved high school math teacher Ellen Cornwell as National Honor Society adviser;

• Approved tentative use of the school buildings by the board of elections for possible use on May 4, Aug. 3 and Nov. 2;

• Approved use of the baseball fields March to August by the Southington Baseball Organization as long as it does not interfere with high school schedules;

• Approved interdistrict open enrollment through May 14;

• Approved board member pay at $80 per meeting.
